Who we are
A choir became a family. The family never stopped singing.
Dynamic Praise was first organized in 1988 as a student-led gospel choir at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. Decades later the robes still come out — only now the sopranos fly in from three time zones.

1988Dynamic Praise is first organized at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, with Owen Simons as its inaugural director.

Early yearsLeadership passes to Andrew "Benji" Young, then to Bruce Bean and Bryce Davis — each one handing the sound forward rather than starting it over.

2001 & 2007Faith (2001) and Testify (2007) put the choir on record, followed by a live concert DVD in March 2008.
